Race Details ALTAR 50K, 100K & 100K relay

Location: Beyond the Trees, Avondale Forest Park, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

EVENT OVERVIEW:
ALTAR is an endurance challenge set on the scenic trails of Avondale Forest Park. Whether you’re attempting your first ultra, going deep into the pain cave with 100KM, or sharing the journey as a relay team, this is your chance to go to the ALTAR. This is the second year of this event after a highly successful inaugural event.

ALTAR 50KM – Ultra-distance event with ~780m elevation gain

ALTAR 100KM – Full 100KM effort with ~1540m elevation gain

ALTAR 100KM RELAY – A team option (max 5 runners) sharing the 100KM distance. Teams are free to divide the 31 loops however they like once the full 31 loops are completed.

COURSE FORMAT
Loop Distance: 3.2KM

100KM (Solo & Relay): 31 loops

50KM: 1.6KM starter loop + 15 loops of 3.2KM

RACE PACK INCLUDES

Every participant (solo or relay) will receive:

ALTAR finisher medal

ALTAR race tee shirt

Goodie bag with endurance nutrition and event treats

 Relay Team Members: Each member will receive their own tee shirt, medal, and goodie bag.

RACE DAY – SATURDAY, APRIL 25
Car Park Opens: 6:30 AM

Race Briefing: 7:40 AM at the start line

Race Start 100K & 100K Relay: 8:00 AM

Race Start 50K: 8:10 AM

AID & SUPPORT
Central Aid Station: Located at the start/finish and accessible every loop

Provided: Water, snacks, and ALTAR SPEED DUST

Bring Your Own: Drop bags for nutrition and gear – clearly labelled with your name and race number

CUT-OFF TIMES
50KM: 8-hour time limit

100KM (Solo & Relay): Must complete 16 loops within 7 hours to continue

Total Time Limit 100KM (Solo & Relay): 15 hours.

MANDATORY KIT
All runners: Waterproof and windproof jacket (does not have to be worn by runners must be on their person)

100KM solo/relay runners: Head torch with spare batteries

Recommended: Handheld bottle/flask, blister care, base layer

ON-SITE FACILITIES
Toilets on route near the car park which will be sign posted (all stocked with female sanitary products)

Café, pizzeria, and a family-friendly playground available on site

SAFETY & MEDICAL
Two full ambulance crews on site for the entire race

Sweep runner on course throughout the event

If assistance is needed, speak to a marshal or aid station volunteer

FINISH LINE INFO
Hand in your bib to receive your medal

Collect your drop bag after finishing

If you want to keep your race bib, hand it to a supporter to avoid a false lap read at the finish

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
This is a Leave No Trace event

No littering on the course – use bins at the aid station
